4 Tips!

Last month, Jessica and I gave a presentation to a great group. We were invited by Little Falls Biz, an organization for local businesses in Little Falls, NJ, to share our tips and tricks about social media. What a fun time that was!

Today, I am going to share a bit of what we talked about that day for those of you who need help with social media, and as a refresher for those of you who attended!
I know social media can be a bit overwhelming, but just remember what Jessica always says: “Have fun with it!” It should not become a burden for you.

Tips:

  1. Use a content calendar! The key to success on social media is planning, planning, planning. Without planning your posts for the week, or even the month, you may run out of ideas, find yourself stuck, have “writer's block” each day of the week and therefore end up not posting anything. I suggest spending time on Saturdays looking at your schedule for the upcoming week and from that, deciding what you should advertise, talk about or post pictures of on your social media accounts.
  2. If you feel that there are too many things going on, too many platforms (i.e., Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest) to choose from, take a breather! Pick one social media that you already use and enjoy, and stick to that one. If after a month you feel comfortable with the first one, you may look into another platform.  Start using this new one for at least a month.
  3. Make sure you know what posts work and which ones do not. Your customers and/or followers may be more interested in one subject. You have to be conscious about this to keep these potential customers engaged and interested in your content.
  4. The other key to success on social media is to be active and consistent! Remember to take part in the community by following other people of interest to you, commenting on their content and letting them know you enjoy their posts. Also, be consistent to show your followers/customers that you are a working, dynamic business. Think of social media as your storefront. People want to see what you are up to, and with your use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest, they can do that from the comfort of their homes! Pretty cool, right?

Now I have a question for you: What is your one biggest concern about social media?
We would like to answer them in a future newsletter.
Please send us your answers at redroot@maarek.com.

Best of Luck!!
